With the ALIVE APP mobile application, users gain quick access to a digital version of their card, an overview of all current discounts, exclusive contests, and ISIC travel insurance. The digital version of the card is fully accepted both in transportation as proof of student status and by discount providers.
“More than half a million students use ISIC cards daily at school, for commuting, and to claim discounts. Since young people always have their phones with them nowadays, launching a digital version of the card is a logical step in improving our services,” explains Radek Schich, director of GTS ALIVE, the company that issues ISIC cards in the Czech Republic.
“We worked for a year and a quarter on preparing and developing the ALIVE APP. Besides the app itself, we also developed new internal systems for managing customers and their profiles. Everything is now running in pilot mode, and we’re focusing on optimization and bug fixes, which even our new app wasn’t immune to. However, we already have big plans for further development of ALIVE APP, including preparations for launching the entire solution abroad, primarily within the countries of the international GTS ALIVE Group,” adds Lukáš Kabíček, IT manager at GTS ALIVE.
The app is available to holders of ISIC, ITIC, ALIVE, and IYTC cards, allowing students, academic, and non-teaching school staff to use it.
The launch of the app and digital card is accompanied by a facelift of the ISIC website. Alongside the new design, the online magazine ISIC LIFE was launched, focusing on topics that interest today’s young generation. Articles on culture, fashion, travel, and sports are complemented by advice on job searching after school and practical tips to help students navigate the challenges of modern life.

About the ISIC (International Student Identity Card)
ISIC is the only globally recognized proof of student status for primary, secondary, higher vocational, university, and selected post-secondary study programs. ISIC identification cards are issued at over 1,000 schools in the Czech Republic, and last year the total number of valid cards reached 550,000.
