Tomáš Böhm has joined the multinational GTS Alive Group, which among other things issues and manages ISIC student cards and ITIC teacher cards, as the new commercial director. He brings experience from managerial positions at Google, Rohlik, and Footshop. In addition to managing business relationships with key B2B clients, he will focus heavily on important product matters, such as redesigning the app for students using ISIC cards. By virtue of his position, he will also be one of the five members of the group’s top management. The entire GTS Alive Group is managed from Prague and includes branches in seventeen countries across four continents.
„Among my important tasks will be, besides expanding the customer base, preparing an improved verification tool for our B2B partners. For example, when a student or teacher with an ISIC or ITIC card comes to their store, a digital reader will immediately show the staff what discounts they are entitled to, and so on. I will also focus heavily on the digitization of the ISIC and ITIC cards themselves and on making their online ordering easier.“ comments Tomáš Böhm on his priorities at GTS Alive.
Tomáš Böhm has previously worked at GTS Alive twice: 13 years ago he started there in a junior sales position and later returned as Business Development Manager. Now, after seven years, he’s coming back to a familiar environment, enriched with experience from companies such as Google, where he was responsible for developing Google Pay across Central and Eastern Europe.
He also has significant managerial experience from the rapidly growing e-commerce world: at the online supermarket Rohlik.cz, he managed its wholesale division MyFood Wholesales. The footwear and fashion giant Footshop entrusted him, after an acquisition, with managing the Czech sneaker and streetwear store Queens. There, Tomáš gained truly comprehensive managerial experience—from post-acquisition tasks like merging corporate cultures and teams and launching expansion into new countries to tough rationalization measures following a significant market downturn in e-commerce in the first half of 2022.
Tomáš Böhm studied Marketing and International Trade at the University of Economics in Prague. He is married and six months ago became a father to his first daughter. He is a passionate traveler, having visited fifty countries with another fifty planned. He also enjoys sports and runs to work every day over Prague’s Vítkov hill.
Throughout his career, Tomáš Böhm has often led large teams. He has always followed three main principles: immediate two-way feedback, a humane approach, and keeping one’s word.
