The mission of the Lidice Memorial is to keep alive the memory of annihilation of Lidice and of suffering of its citizens who happened to be the victims of Nazi violence on June 10, 1942 and also to preserve the name Lidice as a worldwide symbol of vicitims of war crimes. Lidice area was proclaimed a Heritage Site on March 3, 1962, it was proclaimed a National Heritage Site by the government on August 16, 1995. Lidice Memorial also administers the National Heritage Site Ležáky in Chrudimsko.
