The Pelhřimov Museum of Records was reopened by the legendary athlete Mrs. Jarmila Kratochvílová! A two-time world champion in the 800 and 400 meters (Helsinki, 1983), holder of a silver Olympic medal (Moscow, 1980) and multiple medalist from the European Championships, she managed to run 800 meters in Munich on July 26, 1983 in 1: 53.28 min. This performance is historically the longest valid world record in the history of athletics. We were honored to meet Mrs. Jarmila Kratochvílová and introduce her to the Record Hall of Fame on that occasion. She was also well assisted by members of the Association of Friends of Artillery from Jihlava, holders of the title Collective Record of the Year for "The Biggest Salvo of Historical Artillery Weapons". During the official reopening of the Museum, the gentlemen in period uniforms fired a ceremonial salvo from historic muskets.
