Make sure to check the student fares from ISIC's website before booking your flight as the student fares are not visible in common booking engines. In Finland the student tickets are sold by KILROY and you can recognize them by the yellow colour in KILROY's flight booking engine. You can find the age limitations for the ticket in question there as well. Please prepare to type your ISIC number into the system.

The student ticket is especially handy when you travel one way (up to around the world!) or want to stay on tour for a longer time such as a full year. Most student tickets' travel dates and even routes can be modified and the terms are in other ways more flexible than in standard tickets as well. Even if you're flying domestic, it's worthwhile to check Finnair's student fare especially if you are travelling one-way.

Please note that the student fare is not always the cheapest available and there is considerable daily fluctuation in prices. Especially when comparing short return fares airlines' student offers do not vary much from standard prices but if you need flexibility and want to travel with open dates then student ticket is your choice also on short routes. Whereever you end up booking your ticket, make sure to check the terms carefully. All tickets are not changeable or may cause a lot of costs afterwards when changed.
