The ISIC card is conquering Prague schools

The ISIC card is conquering Prague schools

ISIC cards have been a standard for Czech secondary and university students for many years. Both students who use them in their free time and the schools themselves are accustomed to them. Schools use ISIC as their school ID card and as a chip card. You can use it in cafeterias, dining halls, for entry to buildings and classrooms, and for many other purposes. It would be hard to find a secondary or university school in Prague that cannot offer ISIC cards to newly enrolled students.

At the beginning of 2017, however, ISIC cards also entered elementary schools. A special subtype of the ISIC card is used there: the so-called ISIC Scholar, tailored to elementary school students. It offers the same benefits as the classic ISIC but has a longer validity and reflects the student’s attendance at elementary school.

ISIC SCHOLAR

During this year, dozens of Prague elementary schools began using ISIC Scholar (internationally known as ISIC Scholar). It works the same way as in secondary and university schools. Mainly in school chip systems, but also as a student ID card, significantly contributing to a safe and modern school environment.

What leads schools to switch to the ISIC card? The ISIC project manager for schools, Jakub Rozkydal, answers this question: “The advantages of ISIC Scholar cards are best seen in comparison to transport cards, which can also be used in schools. While not all students may use a transport card, ISIC suits everyone.

Moreover, several generations of parents already have good experiences with ISIC. Parents, as well as their children, will certainly appreciate the rich benefits program of discounts and advantages on ISIC. Holders find discounts not only in Prague but throughout the Czech Republic and in 130 countries worldwide. Every child with ISIC effectively receives their first personal ID card, which they can use to identify themselves anywhere and, for example, clearly prove their age.”

How does a student use ISIC SCHOLAR directly at school?

“ISIC also offers benefits for the schools themselves,” Rozkydal continues. “A significant advantage is the technology that allows ISIC to work in any school cafeteria or other chip system. No additional investments or construction modifications are needed. Integration into the system is therefore quick and easy. Ordering cards is also adapted to the schools’ needs. It is done in bulk, for all students at once, and is carried out purely electronically using school information systems.

That is why we believe ISIC is suitable for every school. Additionally, as part of their involvement in the project, elementary schools also gain the opportunity to renew ITIC teacher cards for all their employees under special conditions,” concludes the project manager.

GTS ALIVE, s.r.o., is the official issuer of international identification cards for students (ISIC), youth up to 26 years old (IYTC), and educational professionals (ITIC) in the Czech Republic, authorized by the World Youth and Student Educational and Travel Confederation.

The ISIC card is issued in more than 130 countries worldwide. The Czech Republic is consistently ranked as the country with the highest distribution of ISIC cards and the largest offering of student benefits. ISIC and ITIC cards are issued at more than 550 schools in the Czech Republic. Holders can access benefits at more than 2,200 locations in the Czech Republic.
