ISIC PORT is an identification and access system that offers schools a solution for access and attendance using the international ISIC student card and enables the use of a mobile phone as both a personal ID and digital key. “Our goal was to develop a secure yet practical identification system that would make life easier for both schools and students,” says Radek Schich, director of GTS ALIVE, the company behind ISIC cards in the Czech Republic.

ISIC PORT is compatible with both the digital and plastic versions of the ISIC card and can be integrated with electronic attendance systems as well as school systems such as libraries or cafeterias. Students and teachers can thus use ISIC instead of multiple chips. ISIC PORT system administrators can monitor school entries and always know who is in the building. It’s also possible to set up SMS alerts for parents regarding their child’s arrival or absence from school.

ISIC is the first to offer mobile phone-based identification technology in schools in the Czech Republic. Since its launch in December 2020, ISIC PORT has already been installed in 15 schools, and GTS ALIVE plans to expand it abroad this year. The ISIC PORT system was developed in cooperation with etugate and IMA.

About the ISIC (International Student Identity Card)

ISIC is the only globally recognized document proving student status at elementary schools, secondary schools, higher vocational schools, universities, and selected post-secondary study programs. The card has been issued for over 60 years by the global ISIC Association under the auspices of UNESCO in nearly 130 countries worldwide.
