The ALIVE card is an identification card which is linked to a network of benefits. These cards are designed primarily for part-time students, who are not eligible for international ISIC card. Likewise non-teaching staff, who can not have ITIC card.
In addition to students and school staff, the ALIVE card is intended for members of sports federations and associations. The ALIVE card is only available through participating schools and sporting associations – It is not available for individual sale.
The ALIVE card is valid throughout the Czech Republic and you can get discounts in more than 1,500 locations (as at: 1st September 2012). The ALIVE card brings extensive network benefits throughout all the Czech Republic, including insurance discounts, sports facilities, restaurants, cafes, access to cultural events, passes at ski resorts and many more.
For more information about ALIVE cards go to www.alive.cz.
The validity of the ALIVE card if issued by a school is the same as the ISIC, 16 months – from September 1st of one year to the end of December of the following year. This validity remains constant regardless of the date of issuance.
Cards issued by sports associations are valid for either 12 months, or one season as specified by the association.
ALIVE cards are issued by cooperating schools (especially universities but also a number of secondary schools), who also offer revalidation of the cards via approved revalidation stickers, thus extending the card’s lifespan.
Cards issued by the schools / universities can also contain microchips which enable teachers or students to access required features (entry into buildings, use in cafeterias and canteens, copiers, library cards etc.).
A list of schools issuing the ALIVE card, can be found at this site. Prices of the cards at individual schools or associations may vary based on the school or association’s requirements.
